Built by people who would live with the result

What we do

We take on the work that changes how a house actually functions: rear, side and double storey extensions, full internal refurbishments, structural alterations and steelwork, garden rooms, and HMO and flat conversions. On most projects we are involved from the ground up — drainage, foundations, brickwork and roofing through to kitchens, bathrooms and the final finishes.

That means one contractor carries responsibility for the whole build rather than handing you between trades, and the stage that matters most — what sits behind the finished walls — is never someone else's problem.

Who we work for

Mostly, homeowners who want to stay where they are. People who love their house but have outgrown the layout, and would rather invest in the property they already own than move to one that costs more and gives them less.

We also work regularly with landlords and property investors on HMO and flat conversions, where the brief is different: a finish that lets quickly, stands up to tenant use and still looks current several years from now.

Who builds it

S&E Construction Group was founded and is directed by Stan, who brings more than 20 years of hands-on construction experience to every project. Stan personally oversees each build from the first consultation to the final snag, working alongside a team of trusted trades built up over that time.

The company was set up on a simple belief: homeowners deserve a builder who communicates openly and tells it like it is. Clear communication, complete transparency and practical advice are not marketing lines here — they are the reason most of our work comes from recommendation and repeat clients.

Where we work

We cover Peterborough, Cambridge, Huntingdon, Stamford, Oakham, Corby, Kettering, Northampton, Leicester, Market Harborough, Bedford, Milton Keynes and Ely, along with the towns and villages between them.
