For this apartment, the brief was a full internal refurbishment — a new kitchen, a new bathroom and a consistent, contemporary finish throughout — delivered to the same standard the client had come to expect across their portfolio.

This apartment is one of four flat conversions completed for the same landlord.
Repeat work is the clearest measure of whether a contractor is delivering. A landlord does not bring the same builder back for a second, third and fourth project unless the first one was done properly.
Across all four conversions, the approach has been consistent — full strip-outs, proper first-fix work, and finishes chosen to stand up to tenant use without dating quickly.
STRIPPED BACK AND REBUILT INSIDE
A full internal refurbishment, not a refresh.
The apartment was stripped back internally so the new layout and services could be formed properly.
First-fix plumbing and electrics were run for the new kitchen and bathroom before any finishes went in, with the preparation and waterproofing done right — the work that determines how long the conversion actually lasts.
It is the part a tenant never sees, but it is the part that stops problems appearing six months in.
A HIGH-CONTRAST KITCHEN
Two-tone cabinetry, marble-effect worktops and patterned flooring.
A new kitchen was installed with a two-tone finish — matte white upper cabinets paired with dark charcoal lower units and a tall larder cabinet.
White marble-effect worktops with grey veining run through the kitchen and continue up the wall as a splashback, with a smooth neutral glass panel behind the hob.
A black Baumatic induction hob and a grey composite sink with a chrome mixer tap were fitted, sitting cleanly into the worktop.
Underfoot, a black-and-white patterned encaustic-style floor tile runs through the apartment, giving the kitchen a real point of difference from a standard flat fit-out.
A BATHROOM WITH REAL CHARACTER
Crittall-style shower, marble tiling and matching patterned floors.
The bathroom was fully refurbished with large-format white marble-effect wall tiles and the same patterned encaustic-style floor tiling used in the kitchen, tying the two spaces together.
A walk-in shower with a black crittall-style grid frame and a low-profile black tray was installed, fitted with a chrome riser rail and electric shower unit.
A slim wall-mounted white vanity with a chrome mixer tap was paired with a mirrored cabinet featuring integrated LED lighting, and a wall-hung toilet with a chrome flush plate kept the floor clear and the room feeling larger.
FINISHED, CONSISTENT AND READY TO LET
Built to the same standard as the other three.
With the kitchen, bathroom and finishes complete, the apartment was ready to take its place alongside the other three conversions in the client’s portfolio.
The high-contrast palette, patterned flooring and consistent chrome detailing were chosen to look contemporary now and still look considered in years to come — exactly what a landlord needs from a conversion.
It is one of four. And it was built to the same standard as every other one.
